Our Story
The story began in 2004 when the founder of Derana Foods, Mr. Densil Jayaweera, along with his wife; started the business “Derana Pty Ltd,” at the back of his garage, by distributing Wijaya Products to few Sri Lankan retail shops in Melbourne. In the same year, Derana Pty Ltd launched its own product line under the brand “Derana”. The product range consisted with ready-to-eat products, spices, herbal products, and rice.
Since then, the business has been growing, and now; Derana imports and distributes over 300 products around Australia, which includes Derana brands as well as well-known Sri Lankan household brands.
